Do What I Say Not What I Do

You must understand that rules apply to everyone. Creating clear and understandable systems for your team to follow is the first step in creating systems. People want control in business. They want to know that when you schedule their co-workers to arrive to work at four o'clock that they actually show up. They like knowing that when they are doing a bad job you will take to the side and let them know. When they do a jam up work they know that you will congratulate them in front of everyone.

As a leader there is always someone watching you. Waiting for you to mess up and then they will exploit it immediately telling everyone. Your actions spread faster than wildfire and the only way to extinguish the flames is by the bad actions to never have occurred.
