People Want Structure

You must understand that rules apply to everyone. Creating clear and understandable steps for your team to follow is the first step in creating systems. People want control in business. They want to know that when you schedule their co-workers to arrive to work at four o'clock that they actually show up. They like knowing that when they are doing a bad job you will take to the side and let them know. When they do a jam up work they know that you will congratulate them in front of everyone.

People really deep down inside want rules to govern them. How many times in an interview do people cite lack of structure for the reason they left their last job? Conducting your business in a structure format will yield you the results you demand. No one wants to work for that company who's rules change more than a traffic light.

QUOTE

" The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be."
